Title: Dual adsl interfaces?
Post by: ale on October 04, 2002, 01:37:12 AM
Could be two adsl external interfaces be connected to a sme box?
I have a friend that wants to conect a server to 2 adsl conexions to provide beter performance an band usage and redundance.

I would like to recommend SME  but I dont know if it is posible to  add this second adsl connexion

Many thanks in advance
Ale

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know.
Here in the UK 99% of ADSL lines are connected through one companies DSLAMS.
This means that if you have 2 adsl lines and one goes down then it's extremely likely that the other one will be down as well.
All the  best,
Julian

thinking about it, then it isnt possible to use 2 dsl connections at the same time without some sort of software.

the SME Server knows on which lancard to send all traffic, and the problem woulöd be telling sme to send some traffic out on 1 card and "other" traffic on another card.....

If you realy need redundancy or even a faster connection then get a 1 or 2 MB line...
