Title: RAV 8.4 SPAM and folder question
Post by: Brad Jennings on October 04, 2002, 09:47:56 AM
Just curious to other rav users......and how they are doing things.

I like the spam feature.....and I'm wondering what other people are doing to rid their servers of crap.  Are you just blocking spam or are you putting spam into another users folder like yahoo does, for example.  And if so, is there a way to create a new folder in IMP for all of your users so that just the spam mail is forwarded into that folder.

Thanks for any thoughts on the subject

RAV for Mitel SME Server topics are best discussed either on the RAV for Qmail mailing list:

or on my forum:

RAV scans email messages and tags them if they are suspected as being spam.  How RAV tags the email depends on how RAV is configured.

Once  a message is tagged, it's up to you to decide what to do with it.  You could, for example, tell RAV to append a spam rating to the subject line so that you can visually identify spam messages.  Another approach would be to configure procmail to sort tagged messages to a designated spam email folder.

Hey Greg, will procmail automatically create folders for all users (like a SPAMinbox) folder.  And do you know of a way to automatically have the server empty that box once it reaches a certain amount....or after say 3 weeks or something?  Any info is appreciated
