I use to be with Symaptico and I changed to IGS. I now have the 3mg Dsl with static ip address. I have a Gnet Adsl modem BB0050 model. This modem is also a router and is configured as DHCP. I now have conflict with my e-smith box.
This modem is also acting as a firewall. Whenever I try to use my e-smith box as router and firewall I have no Internet access.
If there is anyone out there that has the same type of connect or knows how to set this up, please help me. I prefer to use the e-smith box as my firewall and not the Gnet Adsl modem. I don't know if I can trust it.
Ever since I started using e-smith I have never been hacked and I would like to keep it that way.
Please help,
Jehu

I haven't set the server up with this particular setup, but I have done this with a Linksys router (Internet to router to e-smith.. double protection). Basically you'll have to check the manual for your modem. There should be a range of IP addresses you can use for setting up your computer(s) with a static address. When you're configuring your server rather than choosing PPPoE choose the option for using a static IP address. Just follow the steps choosing an IP address within the range alotted for static IPs and all should work fine.
