Title: Serving Web Pages Locally Only
Post by: Phil M on October 08, 2002, 07:55:46 PM
On my SME 5.5 server I have a number of web pages served, such as an intranet, ntop etc.  These pages are served both to the local network and also the internet.  Is there any way to configure it to serve them only to the LAN?

Hello Phil,

Put these files off you intranet on a ibay en make it only acces for your local network.

Pointer your browser's (the computer's in your internal network) to these page's by default (//servername/ibay-name)

Put only your public pages on the primary web space on your SME box

Good luck

Johan

I have installed the contributed rpm for MyPHPnuke.  It installs this to somewhere like /opt/intranet/ or something like that.  Can I safely move the files in there into an I-Bay and have it serve only to the local network?  I'm guessing not.  At the moment the MyPHPnuke site is served to the internet, and I'd rather it didn't do that...

What's involved in making it serve only to the LAN?

cheers,

Phil
