Title: IDE Patch
Post by: Kelvin on October 16, 2002, 05:35:24 AM
Hi all,

I'm experimenting with some CMD / SI (same thing) based controllers. I can get SME to work on these controllers, but only in the basic mode (much like having your hard disk stuck in real mode under Win9x), which means performance is truly, truly pathetic.

I downloaded a patch to add support for the CMD controllers (specific to kernel 2.2.19 used by SME 5.12). Now that I have the file called ide.2.2.19.05042001.patch, what do I do with it ? There's no readme or instructions on the web site.

TIA !

Kelvin

In the qmail SMTP authentication hack, it mentions patching files. I think you may need to use your file to patch some other file, though I don't know anything more about it...
