Title: Compaq 5i array not found with e-smith 5.5
Post by: Jason Young on October 16, 2002, 12:32:45 PM
Hope anyone can help me with this one...

I have a great new Proliant ML370 G2 with this array and 3 SCSI drives in RAID 5 configuration just waiting to be run up with e-smith. Problem is it doesn’t recognise the array (as a single drive). Does anyone know if this array controller is supported by e-smith 5.5? I would hate to use any other O/S because I think this stuff is great. I can’t even get through the install because there is a "no drives found error".

I have a ML370 (G1) with the same config and an integrated Smart Array controller, and e-smith 5.1.2 runs just fine. I tried 5.1.2 install, but got the same error.

Thanks in advance

Jason

Thankyou Mat,

I did download this file but could not seem to work out where to run the "linux
updates dd" command from. I tried to goto another console but I just got a
linux command not found typr of error.

Might give it another go, but......

In the interim, I downloaded the 5.6Beta7 and it came up like a charm. Just looking at a problem with the server manager with respect to backup-restore with my Compaq DLT, but otherwise, will kick back have a beer and wait for the official release of 5.6.

Cheers and Thanks
