Title: Gradual Slowdown in SME 5.5
Post by: Brendon on October 18, 2002, 10:58:50 AM
Hi, I am having a problem where I experience a gradual slowdown (over the period of about a week) after restarting e-smith server.

Initially the server was on a P166. But then i shifted the HDD to a Celeron 500. After this I experienced the slowdown so I backed up to the desktop and did a clean install so get the i686 kernel. I then restored the backup but the problem still continues. I have a funny feeling that it is somehow related to webserving as this is where the slowdown is noticed.

Any tips?

The Upgrade1 blade says that server components have been modified so it isn't supported but i cant work out how to reinstall the blade.

Cheers,

Brendon Muir

Maybe try Update 2? ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/updates/5.5/Update2/RPMS/
