I'm installting on 100MHz Pentium where the BIOS doesn't support CD boot, so I boot with a floppy. Right after I have accepted the terms, when "Uncompressing Linux..." I get "crc error -- System halted". I have no clue what to do! I would appreciate any hint!

Try creating a new floppy or cd, depending on which is being used when it gives this error. A crc is a checksum, before files are compressed a number is calculated based on the characteristics of the files. This number is calculated gain after decompressing, the numbers should match.
