Title: SPAM question
Post by: Tom Carroll on October 31, 2002, 02:00:28 PM
Hello all.  I am using SME 5.1.2 for a few more weeks until I upgrade to 5.5.  I have lately been receiving spam from quite a few individuals.  I was first able to block them by activating reverse look-up.  These new spams are coming from valid reverse look-up domains, but the the spammer is claiming to be someone else like hotmail.com or yahoo.com.

Can I make qmail deny mail from an smtp server if it "claiming" to be something different than what appears in the reverse look-up domain?

Will this be necessary with SME 5.5, or something totally different?

I am already aware that spamassasin is already out there, but wondered if it was something simple I could do on my end without adding another program to the server.

Thanks for any help.

Tom
