I have an older Mylex DAC960 RAID controller and LOTS of SCSI HDs to go with it.
It has the "single" BIOS chip on it which means I can upgrade the BIOS to 2.73 (which I have done ....)
The maintainer of the DAC960 module has updated his code to support the above configuration, but the DAC960.o module which ships with SME 5.5 uses an earlier release of the code which appears not to like any BIOS in the 2.xx range.
The maintainer's site is http://www.dandelion.com/Linux/DAC960.html
Would it be too much to ask one of the developers who lurk on this group to recompile the DAC960.o module from his source and email it to me?
I'll then be able to test and see if that solves at least some of my problems ...
TIA,
Hugh

Hi,
if you get some Infos (or Modules) for the Controller please let it me know. I want to use the same controller in the near future for my homeserver.

Ralf

UPDATE:
I downloaded SME 5.6 beta last night and the DAC960.o module in that version is based on the new code and find the DAC960 in my system even with the 2.xx BIOS.
If anyone has started working on recompiling the module for the 2.2.19 kernel, I would still be happy to test it, but it may just be easier to move on to the "standard" version which supports it.
