Title: PPTP
Post by: Jehu on November 07, 2002, 10:56:38 PM
Whenever I try to connect to my e-smith box through vpn from my Win. XP or 2000 box using DSL I cannot connect.  If I use a dial-up connection I am able to connect but this connection is too slow for me.
How do I get this to work when using DSL?

Thanks,

Jehu.

Maybe it's your personal firewall or router?  Your ISP could be blocking ports as well...

Tried it with two different ISP but it works when I use their dial-up connection.
Hey, anything is possible.

Thanks,

Jehu.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

I have a DSL-connection directly to my SME(it's firewall and server).
I can connect remotely via PPTP, using cable from a winxp-pc, using GPRS on my ipaq via my cellphone, and within the local-network for encryption of 802.11b-packets.

I've never had any problems

I started to have problems with my iPAQ after I installed the 5.5 service pack.
Before, I had no problems. Maybe I should open a new Topic...
I already trying resetting the iPAQ to factory defaults without any luck.
It connects, and 5 seconds later disconnects.
SME Server reports something like "Packets out of Sequence...". I'll investigate more tomorrow and give precise details about the problem.
