Title: Windows XP installation
Post by: Henry lebensbaum on November 08, 2002, 11:39:12 PM
ERROR:  Disk corrupted

Despite having tested the disk in depth & finding no errors, getting corrupted disk error message, and installation ceases.

Think this is not really the forum to post this message. I would give it a try at some MS forum.

Hello,

so, I don't really understand what you want ....
But if you want to install SME on a former XP HDD then you should test making a DOS bootdisk and put the IBM WIPE utility on it.
This inits the harddrive at first 1024 cyl with 00.

This helps, when some software writes something in the bootsector, that could not be eliminated by other tools.

Bye,
