Title: IBAY: user can't delete directories
Post by: Kim Richardson on November 20, 2002, 06:07:29 AM
I have an ibay setup for client files. I can create directories and files, and then delete the file but I can't delete the directory (gives me "Access Denied")

The directories and files have ownership .shared

The directories and files have permission rwxrwxr-x

Cheers,
Kim Richardson

What OS are you using as a client? I had that problem with Windows XP.

I am using Windows XP Professional, is there a way around this problem?

Well it seems to be intermittent.

After rebooting it seems to work fine.

Last time I was told to watch my samba access logs then send them to e-smith so they could see what the problem was.

I would search the fourms database here and you may find more information.

Reboot the e-smith gateway or the workstations?

I would reboot both.
