Title: VPN Problem: Getting the firewalls IP assigned when I VPN
Post by: Mark Lee on November 23, 2002, 06:13:07 AM
Hi all,

strangeproblem, did a fresh install of SME 5.5 with all the latest updates.

The firewalls IP is 192.168.111.1

l've got DHCP scope set for 192.168.111.10-100

First for some reason I get connected as 192.168.111.1 (same address as firewall) whenever I VPN into the box... so nothing works.

Then on the next try I get connected as .2

So I'm guessing something is wrong... ;)

Also, is there anyway to force pptpd to give out IPs out of the DHCP scope? IPs above 100 would be great...

Thanks.

Mark

Also,

just noticed that even when I get a .2 IP the default gateway also becomes .2

Strange...

To change the ip's assigned to a ip connection, the file you need to edit is the template equiv for /etc/pptpd.conf
