Title: Adding hard drive full of MP3's to SME
Post by: Kingnubian on November 23, 2002, 07:18:55 PM
I have SME 5.6b7 running very nicely but would like to add  a 40gig hard drive full of MP3 files for use by anyone on the network. SME is setup in server mode only. The MP3 drive was formatted fat32 prior to filling it up with the above mentioned files. Can I get some information regarding seamlessly adding this drive to my existing SME server box?

theres an article on here about setting up an ibay and using it for streaming mp3 files iirc. Not sure how you'd go about adding a fat32 formatted drive to e-smith. You may want to take the drive and wipe it and add it to your SME server and setup a single ibay on it. Then take your backup of the mp3's which of course you have ;-) and copy them back on.

Hi,

I´m guessing here... but

What happen if you create an ibay (e.g. mp3) and add HDD and issue a command:
mount /dev/hdX /home/e-smith/files/ibays/mp3/files -t vfat

Wouldn´t work?
