Title: Promise SX4000 RAID5 and kernel
Post by: Paul Sahlin on November 28, 2002, 11:46:31 AM
I've tried to install a box with 3 120Gb and a Promise SX4000 with drivers for RedHat 7.2/7.3.  I assumed that the SME 5.6 (based on 7.3) would take the
driver without problems. I turned out to be kind of frustrating to explore that
SME 5.6 has the kernel 2.4.18-5   and Red Hat 7.3   has   2.4.18-3

Therefore the driver couldn't be compliant with 5.6

Is there any earlier version of the 5.6 that has the kernel 2.4.18-3 ??
Can I change kernel without any struggle?
