Post by: Tue Hellstern on November 30, 2002, 08:09:31 PM
Hi
The power to my E-smith server got cut by a mistake. After that my server keep on sending this message about a Raid failure:

ALARM! RAID configuration problem

Current configuration is:

Personalities : [raid1]
read_ahead 1024 sectors
md2 : active raid1 hdd1[1] hdc1[0] 264960 blocks [2/2] [UU] resync=DELAYED md0 : active raid1 hdd5[1] hdc5[0] 15936 blocks [2/2] [UU] resync=DELAYED md1 : active raid1 hdd6[1] hdc6[0] 38796864 blocks [2/2] [UU] resync=7% finish=544.4min unused devices:

Last known good configuration was:

Personalities : [raid1]
read_ahead 1024 sectors
md2 : active raid1 hdd1[1] hdc1[0] 264960 blocks [2/2] [UU]
md0 : active raid1 hdd5[1] hdc5[0] 15936 blocks [2/2] [UU]
md1 : active raid1 hdd6[1] hdc6[0] 38796864 blocks [2/2] [UU] unused devices:

What do I do about this?

Do nothing--once your array finishes resyncing (about 9 hours), you'll stop getting those messages.

This has nothing to do with your Q but: If i where you, i would chance one HD to the other IDE channel so that you have one HD on each channel. That is a more safe way. If one HD fails as is, it will most likely make the other one fail as well.

Hi
Thanks for the answers, I don get the messages any more, I guess that it works again.

Per.
Your suggestion about changing one HD to another IDE channel sounds like a good idée, thanks.
