Title: smtpfwdd mystery error
Post by: Chuck on December 02, 2002, 08:05:06 PM
I'm getting the following error message:

Nov 27 08:24:23 e-smith smtpfwdd[12342]: Couldn't lock spool file smtpdpz2x7R
using flock (Resource temporarily unavailable)

I'm running RAV on this server as well.  Can anybody figure out what it means?

Are you running 8.4.0, cause I have the same problem

I have the same problem after installing a mail antivirus software.

It seems smtpfwdd is looping instead of passing the mail file to the virus scanner.

I wonder if i shoudn't look for updated versions of smtpfwdd.

Or avoid it altogether, as Mitel recommends. 5.5 with updates and 5.6beta are working happily for many people, and without any of the mail problems associated with smtpfwdd.
