Title: SquidGuard cron message
Post by: Cyrus Bharda on December 04, 2002, 05:57:17 AM
Howdy all,

for the past week or so I get this cron message everyday:

/etc/cron.daily/ravmdupdate.sh:

update was not needed
/etc/cron.daily/supdate.cron:

04:37:15 URL: ftp://ftp.teledanmark.no/pub/www/proxy/squidGuard/contrib/blacklists.tar.gz [547110] -> "blacklists.tar.gz" [1]

Now I know it is for the updating of the SquidGuard database, and just thought well it mustn't need updating, but now its gone on for 1 week, I took al look at the file on the ftp and compared it with my databases and it is not updating, anyone got any clues on why?

Thanks

I'm guess you have RAV installed as well.

I'm thinking the "update was not needed" message is related to your RAV signature update.

I also have the following in my log:

/etc/cron.daily/supdate.cron:

04:46:41 URL:http://ftp.ost.eltele.no/pub/www/proxy/squidGuard/contrib/blacklists.tar.gz [547110/547110] -> "blacklists.tar.gz" [1]

Your downloaded blacklists.tar.gz file is probably in /usr/local/squidGuard/downloads.  Mine is dated Dec. 1... the same as the file at the site above.  So, I assume it is working correctly.

Hope that helps.

Yeah just checked all the database files with the tarball and they all look fine, so I guess everything is working fine :-) thanks Abe.
