Hello people
i have just completed a fresh install of esmith v5.1.2 and followed the howto to connect the server to the Telstra Bigpond cable network in Australia. I installed
bpalogin-1.3-2.i386
perl-Net-DNS-0.12-3.src
and when i tried to install the
e-smith-bpalogin-1.3.0-02.noarch
it gives me an error message saying that i need to install perl-Net-DNS ??
it wont let connect to the net after follwing the proccedure to set up the username and pasword from server setup?
is there something wrong i am doing. sorry for me lack of understanding as i have very little linux experience.
can some one help??
thanks

what i would do is follow this howto
http://www.synapticserver.com/bpalogin_2howto.html
cause perl-Net-DNS-0.12-3.src is the source file not the rpm
and at the point where it says individually install the rpm's
i would
go to the folder where the files listed are downloaded
then type: rpm -Uvh *.rpm
and let the system find which order it wants to install them.
Hope this helps
