Title: E-mail
Post by: Tyrone C. Miles on December 06, 2002, 08:55:52 PM
I have an account on my e-smith server named webmaster now that is set to forward mail to my personal account.

I just added a couple of other sites to my server and the users what to use the name webmaster also. How can I forward that mail the the right users (I read the virtual domain how-to)

My real question is do I need to delete the user account webmaster and then make virtual domain settings to point webmaster to each domain that needs it?

Are you saying you want "webmaster" accounts for each virtual domain? The thing with virtual domains is that all of the domains' accounts are all actually accounts on your one server, whether they're for domain1.com or domain2.com or whatever. I thought someone posted here that you could create different accounts ("bob" and "sam") with one for each person administering a domain. Then set up pseudonyms for admin@domain1.com pointing to "bob", and admin@domain2.com pointing to "sam".

I think it was posted that you can do that, but I have no firsthand experience so I can't say for sure.

my virtual domain rpm does much more that this
but for what you want you could probably make a procmail rule to forward the webmaster address based on the domain part
