Title: Wireless network Cards

I have a d-link dwl520 wireless card that is supposed to be supported in linux yet when i install e-smith it doesn't see the card. Even when i find a card that e-smith does support ( any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ) how am i going to configure the card for the workgroup, the SSID, the encryption, and the channel. Normally this is done with a web browser interface with windows but how can i do it with linux? Am i on a lost trail. Some of the other forums said this card did work but 5.5 didn't see it when I installed it

check it's not a 520+ which is not supported

an AP is a lot easier and not much dearer, use the card for a client

When you say "doesn't see the card" - are you talking about the e-smith set up routine or linux itself not seeing it.

If you do a cat /proc/pci do you see it in the output?

Search back a few months ago you will find some  discussions with respect to setting wireless cards up (I managed to get one of these up and running).

I am with Stephen on this one - access points are priced well and will save you alot of trouble in the long run (perhaps a little unsatisfying though).
