Title: Domain Logon Win2000

Hi,

I'm confused,
I can not seem to get my windows 2000 machine to logon to my domain, can I please get some help with this??

I think, you can try this:
set (in tcp ip properties) obtain an ip address automatically, to make your win2k search a dhcp server in the lan.
...But you should point manually to the ip address of your "preferred" dns server (192.168.1.1 if default config of e-smith) to enable your logon process resolve the ip addres of your domain, after that you should change the network id and domain in "my computer" properties dialog to match your  e-smith domain name.
If all is ok, you will be prompted to reboot and you will be able to do the next logon in your domain.

You shoul upgrade the Samba server to the latest release, 2.2.0. It supports Win2K and NT4 domain logons properly. It adds a few nice features!
