lm_sensors monitors the health of your hardware, for instance giving the temperature and fan speed among other things,
Searching on these forums shows that installation is possible, but there is not much help for a beginner.
Therefore I created a simple guide for this, using 5.6 b7

The link in the post above should have been:

I put the link to my local copy by mistake.
(Is there a way to edit an earlier post?)

Hi Ian,
It works, would be nice to see it in your servermanager though.

Thanks for the feedback,
Would you want the whole sensor output available from the server manager?
I currently have a small CGI script that extracts the temperature - which I was thinking of posting as an example.
Making a panel for the information from one sensor would not be hard, but I don't know when I can start working on this.
I was also thinking of adding the possibility of emailing any 'alarms' that appear, but that is further in the distance - I have all the bits, but putting them together takes a little time.
It's just reached the end of Christmas Day so I'll have a think, but it may be a while before I have something good enough - maybe somebody else already has something suitable?

Here is my first attempt at a server manager panel, to display the sensor information from lm_sensors.

The lm_sensors mini-HowTo has been updated.
It is a simple panel, I have not yet had time to learn to make it either into an RPM for easy installation, or a FormMagick Panel. Once back from holiday I will be looking into both of these. As it is my first panel I may have many things wrong, although it appears to work.
