Title: Fibre Channel SCSI
Post by: John on December 26, 2002, 09:01:31 AM
I have a Fujitsu SCSI hard drive with a FC-AL2 connector.  The connector is a tiny little thing.  My question is...what kind of adapter card do I need to get to use this.  Please don't say a "fibre channel" card...I understand that.  I've searched around and couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

The closest thing I think I found was a PowerSAN 4526T.

Any useful input would be greatly appreciated

Why don't you ask Fujitsu for a list of compatible SCSI cards?

That's not a SCSI disk, it's a Fibre Channel disk.  You don't need any kind of SCSI controller, you can only use a FC HBA (Host Bus Adapter)

There are a bunch, we currently buy Emulex LP9002 cards at about $1200 each after steep discount.

I don't think that you'll be using that drive at home any time soon, unless you replace the logic board with a SCSI one.

Good luck
