Hi,
From those of you who have experience in developement. I have in the past installed the developement tools on my server box (the same one hosting numerous web applications...open to the internet). I recently installed all my web stuff on a fresh SME 5.5 box. I have some things I would like to compile again. Is it indeed a security risk for me to install all the required dev tools on this box, or should i install on a seperate box for development specifically (I have a system ready to install either a dev SME, or redhat rawhide). I just wanted a bit of advice before I proceed.
Thanks much,
Craig

Thanks for the reply.
I actually set up the box (seperate for develope) with redhat and have downloaded all updates...which brings up another question...the updates include kernel-2.4, should I update this if I will be compiling for my SME with this box?
