Title: forwarding PPTP VPN
Post by: bud on January 15, 2003, 09:24:40 PM
Here is the situation:

Client (W2K) --> Internet --> Public SME server --> Internal SME Server (private)

I want the client to be able to VPN (PPTP) into the internal SME server through the public SME server.  I have the port opening and port forwarding modules installed.

Has anybody attempted this?  I know that SME has the PPTP VPN passthrough module running so it should be possible.

I have set up a test system exactly as indicated.  It appears to work just fine.

That is...

I forwarded port 1723/tcp to the internal server.

Please search this forum for IPSEC forward, there's a link to the VPN Masquerdate/forwarding howto.
