Hello All
I see here that in the past a number of Antispam solutions have been suggested.
I was intreasted to know if anyone knows of any later antispam solutions for E-smith or linux in general.
Does anyone know of a good antispam solution for e-smith which is easy to install with the minimum of fuss and has a maximum antispam effect.(he said hopefully)
Some pointers would be good
Thanks all

I am a very happy user of TMDA from dungog.net. It is very much a countermeasure to SPAM!

I use SpamBouncer (www.spambouncer.org). It is currently running on my 5.5 installation.
Catherine (who did SpamBouncer) is very responsive and the filters are updated regularly.

After checking them all I have opted for dungog TMDA.
Patrick have you actually installed this and if so how did you install what did you use?
Did you use tmda with dungog e-mail filtering or mitel-e-mailblocking or both, or infact did you need to install all three?
What version of sme are you using is it 4.1.2, 5.0, 5.1.2?
I havent got used to the Dungog site yet it a bit confusing?

Steven recently added an "installation" section to the site pertaining to the TMDA packages. It should clear up your questions.
http://www.dungog.net/sme/products/email-install.php
I installed the latest TMDA (0.63-1)) and the latest email-filtering(0.01-10). I run these on release 5.6 of the server. Previously it ran on release 5.5. It did not exist for the earlier versions but it can be made to run with the correct python dowload (see the link above).
You do NOT need to install email blocking unless you with to specifically block using procmail. I currently use only TMDA and it is very, very effective. Including promail into the equation may be more confusion than you seek, but it certainly adds flexibility when needed.

patrick
