Title: Email Bounce Back to Sender
Post by: Matthew on January 29, 2003, 07:40:55 AM
I used 5.1.2v. with Update 2. Some sender from outside report that he received bounce back message from my SME5.1.2 server. I checked the maillog log and get following message:

Case 1:
Jan 28 23:17:46 ctemail01 smtpd[22004]: EOF on client fd.  At least they could say goodbye!
Jan 28 23:17:46 ctemail01 smtpd[22004]: write failed: (Broken pipe)

Case 2
Jan 28 23:12:30 ctemail01 smtpd[21059]: EOF on client fd.  At least they could say goodbye!

Our user report that they can receive email periodically. Sometime can't send email.

What can I do! Need Help! Thanks!

It seems the connection get's disrupted. You might want to check cabling, nic and stuff like that.

I had checked the all cabling and hardware that they are normal. Someone said that the EOF message is come from the SMTPD. Any idea? One more thing, my server is installed RAV too. Is it related to my mail missing problem.
