Dear All
I posted this question a few days ago on the General forum but no answers.Apologies for posting again but perhaps an Experienced forum reader knows the answer ?
I see that an update 3 has been released for sme v5.5.
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/updates/5.5/Update3/RPMS/
The only rpm changes I notice are
SMEServer-5.5_Update3-03.noarch.rpm
xinetd-2.3.7-4.7x.i386.rpm
Does anyone know what the update covers and is it essential to be applied to a production server ??
Thanks
Ray Mitchell

The xinetd update fixes a potential denial-of-service vulnerability. The SMEServer RPM is just a dummy package saying "you have applied Update 3". It's probably a good idea to apply the update.
