Title: Sending Email from UPS thru E-smith
Post by: Damien Kearns on February 06, 2003, 06:16:28 AM
I have configured a UPS with a ConnectUPS SNMP/Webadaptor on my local network to email administrative emails through my e-smith server. I have configured the UPS correctly, but yet the e-smith wont accept the emails.

I think I need to enable the e-smith box to accept emails from such a source. The Webadaptor has an IP address, anyone have any ideas on enabling emails from such an adaptor?

Thanks dk

Is the UPS' IP address in the SME's LAN range? If so, it should consider it a local machine and give it access to SMTP. If not, I think you can just add its IP as a local network in Server Manager.

If you're running Pre-5.5 you can also create a custom entry for the machine in smtpd_check_rules, this would require creating a template fragment, but it isn't very difficult.
