Title: dydns.org problem
Post by: Nic on April 23, 2001, 04:40:54 AM
I set primary domain to dyndns.org and spork is the computer name.
I get this error on boot. (checked in logs)
Apr 22 07:29:19 spork dyndns.org: Unknown response . Status was 0
Any idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Nic

Your DomainName must match your dyndns.org domain name. So, if you have registered spork.dyndns.org as your domain, that's what you need locally. The e-smith system name can be anything you like.

Even with good domain name, my two e-smith servers have this error on boot or reboot.

But when IP changes, or adsl stops and restarts, no Dyndns problem....

Im rather new to dyndns but I guess, the above mentioned prroblem is related to your adsl configuration. Try to reconfigure adsl with the adsl-setup script and set the adsl-service to start at boot-time.
IFAIK you get a new IP-adress with a new adsl-connection and if you dont execute the adsl-start while booting, you cant send an updated IP-adress at that moment
