Title: Help with APIC error
Post by: Joe "Mac" MacK on February 07, 2003, 07:49:26 AM
I am attempting to install the e-smith server on an HP Kayak with dual P2/300 CPUs. The system begins to boot from the CD but then throws the following error: APIC error on CPU0: 08(08)
I have used this CD many times with no problem so I am sure that it is good. My questions are: What is an APIC error? Why CPU0, when it is the original CPU? Is there a list of error codes somewhere? Lastly what can I do to overcome this? Thanks in advance.

You might try holding shift as the system boots, then type "accept
noapic", then follow the prompts. Let us know how you get on.

Charlie's idea, see how you go.
