Title: Squid / Caching
Post by: Nelson Serrao on February 17, 2003, 09:34:41 AM
Hi,
I have installed SME ver 5.5 and would like to know whether it can be used for caching. I run an ISP. Where can I tweak the setting to optimize cache. Thanks in advance. Reply soon.

Squid is automatically configured for caching web content .. the squid configuraiton file can be found at /etc/squid/squid.conf and in my install, i have the file /etc/squid/squid.conf.default which provides lots of comments on the various options available for squid (including lots of advanced caching parameters)

also, the squid homepage is at http://www.squid-cache.org/ and it includes a configuration guide and user guides..
