Title: Setting up free S/wan with 5.6
Post by: Loren on February 24, 2003, 04:22:14 PM
Hello and thanks again for all of your input on my journey into the world of the SME server.
I am trying to set up a VPN using free s/wan on a 5.6 server. When I check the kernel version I get 2.4.18-5 and when I try to find the related RPM I haven't been able to. Please advise me with any tips howtos and location to get the right version. Thanks agin so much for all you input thus far and I hope to son be a contributor and be able to give back to this community.

Loren,

There is a central repository for howto and contrib info and a quick search for freeswan would have given you a couple of hits.

Try:  http://wiki.contribs.org/LinkBase for your file and howto needs.

Neither one of those links were to 5.6 specific IP sec implementation (or even had links to 5.6 docs).
eSmith 5.5 uses Freeswan 1.97-07 and 5.6 uses Freeswan 1.98b
I have been working on the same thing this morning as I have added another esmith box and have 5.6 on it.

It doesn't look pretty, but maybe I could package it up when I am done.

good luck.
