I recently upgraded my POP account to an IMAP account on E-Smith 5.5. I have noticed that my IMAP client (Netscape 7.x) cannot see folders created through the webmail interface, nor can the webmail interface see folders created by the IMAP client. A little digging around turned up the fact that webmail folders are created in /home/e-smith/files/users/myname/Mail, but the mail client creates folders in /home/e-smith/files/users/myname. How can I get the two interfaces to recognize a single location for mail folders on E-Smith 5.5? I cannot upgrade to 5.6 (yet) because I need the outgoing PPTP access.

You should be able to set Netscape to put folders in Mail/ (and read folders that are there). Don't know exactly where that option is in NS 7, but in Mozilla, it's under Edit/mail & newsgroups account settings/server settings/Advanced/IMAP server directory.

Dan,
Thanks. A follow-up question: I moved the mail folders from the home directory to Mail/, but now the sub-folders will not show up in Netscape - just the top-level folders. Is there some other Mozilla setting that I should look at?

Maybe the "server supports folders that contain subfolders and messages" checkbox? I really don't know, as I don't use mozilla for mail at this point (and I use the courier-imap server instead of the one bundled with SME).

Dan,
I figured it out - I simply dragged the folders so that they appeared under the Mail" folder. Thanks for the guidance on how to fix the first problem.
