We've used several group calendars recently and need some advice on what else might be out there. Here's what we've tried:
Twiggi: Good looking & simple interface. No schedule conflict management. No resouce (meeting room) reservation.
phpgroupware: Great looks. Customizable interface complexity. No conflict management. No resouce reservation.
phproject: Many complaints about Euro-centric date format. Difficult to pick meeting participants. No conflict management. Resouce reservation.
We started out with and are still using phproject, but the users aren't happy. I have Twiggi & phpgroupware on a test machine. I think the users will love the interface, navigation and PIM functionality. But, resource reservation is an absolute requirement.
I'd appreciate anyone input.
TIA,
Jean

Hello Jean,
We all so used PHP-project's en later Twiggi
This last product is working for U very well
Voor the resource planning (meetings rooms, beamers and a boat) we used simply standaard user with nice name's. And place these in a few groups to make it visible whit a few color's. Al so make these groups accesable for every.
In the PHP world also circulate a few separate programm's what only make resource planning(reservation). But with a separate programm you must give in every user again. Search at the sourceforce wheb site.
I whish you very mutch succes to make a right choice for your programm

Jean,
I can help you out with the resource part of your equation. Have a look at the Meeting Room Booking System (MRBS). We use it in our organization for booking Meeting Rooms and the accompanying equipment. If you do a search for it in Google you'll see a lot of people are also taking advantage of it and the code is on Sourceforge.
Good luck,
Craig

Thanks guys! I am going to have a look at MRBS. If all else fails, I might try setting up resources as users like Johan suggested.

Hi Jean.
For our organisation (10 people) we use the moregroupware application.
Calenders, contacts, news and Webmail integration - running on the E-smith server we have in the office is a winning solution.
The issue about the meeting - well, solved as mentioned in the other post (ressource, userid).
Best of luck.... Dion

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I am going to stick with Twiggi. I think it will be easier on the user learning curve.
