Title: Upgrade with second drive for ibays
Post by: Chad Self on March 04, 2003, 06:04:54 AM
I'm running 5.1.2 (with the latest security patches) and am ramping up for the upgrade to 5.1.6.  I've installed a second hard-drive that mounts to /home/e-smith/files/ibays/.  I understand that the upgrade may write over my fstab file.

My question is: should I disconnect that second drive during the upgrade, or simply unmount it?  I also worry that the bays won't show up in the control panel or that the access settings will be hosed.

Can anyone tell me what to expect?

Disconnect the second drive. If the 5.6 installer is anything like the previous versions, it will wipe out the second drive.

Also remove the entry from your /etc/fstab file or the upgrade will choke on it.
