Title: Recompile driver
Post by: tanyu on March 04, 2003, 04:26:20 PM
Help! I need to recompile my kernel on a 5.5 to install a hsf pci modem card (conexant chip) and, although i downloaded every bit of software suggested here, when I try to use the configuration utility 'hsfconfig', everything goes fine until the recompiling time comes, and then :
"Trying to automatically re-compile the modules..
(this requires a C compiler and proper kernel sources to be installed)

ERROR: /lib/modules/2.2.19-7.0.8/build points to a missing directory

lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           21 jan 28 15:03 /lib/modules/2.2.19-7.0.8/build -> /usr/src/linux-2.2.19

Please ensure that the kernel-source RPM package is properly installed."
The problem is that the kernel packages listed on star-support won't install correctly on my sme 5.5.

Could anyone help me to find the correct packages and install them in order to allow this (censored) driver to re-compile at last ???

Thanx in advance.

P.s: please don't tell me to use standard com cards, I know this, but I REALLY need to use à hsf chip card for now...
