Title: ssh & windows xp
Post by: tariq on March 09, 2003, 09:28:22 PM
after first installing windows xp and putty, i could ssh onto my server no problems, but all of a sudden i've started getting "connection refused" whenever i try and connect using putty on windows xp. If I reboot my PC into linux, I can ssh onto my server as usual with no problems, so this seems to be a Windows XP issue, does anyone have any ideas what this could be? I've searched the archives but cannot find any clues.

is the xp part of an MS network?  I've had some windows machines 'lose' their network settings and therefore the E-smith machine may not consider them part of the e-smith local network any longer.

well i'm also having problems joining my domain which I'm trying to sort out now. anyway I've noticed that samba isn't working anymore either, and both samba & ssh were working fine before.

it shouldn't make a difference what network I'm in should it? I have configure ssh access to be public in server-manager.
