Have just purchased this to install at work - worth the $40 to make my life easier and make the dept seem more professional !
Now I am about to install it and dont want to make a complete mess of it - anyone got a howto for this software on SME or has it installed and can gimme some pointers to watch out for?

I've got it installed (or V1.5 anyway) and didn't have any issues. If I remember it was very straightforward. Enable CGI for the I-Bay you plan on putting it in, create the database, put the files in the cgi-bin directory, set permissions and edit the conf file with the database and path variables. Should work like a charm, but if you have any problems drop me an email.

Seems like somebody on the devinfo list was looking at this a long time ago. You might try checking the archives.
Also, Shad Lords has done some work for RT (Request Tracker). I believe it's a similar product.

with a bit of assistance from Arkman a)confirming what I'd done was sensible and reasonably secure and b)suggesting sensible security access permissions I seem to have a fully operational system.
Have to say its the cleanest interface I've come across so far for a ticket system and going to be well worth the money. I've said to Arkman I'll put it together in a HowTo and he's offered to assist in ironing out any little glitches.

Hello,
I am planning to install Perldesk on sme 5.6. I am sick and tired of RT setup, I have been on it since three weeks and want to give perldesk a try.
Is Perldesk working on your site?
Is it difficult to integrate in SME 5.6?
And by any chance is there an How-to around?
Thank you to answer me back something :-)
Have a good weekend

Hello,
Ok What I did is create an ibay put the content of perldesk 1.8 in it
Create a MySql database
Run the install.cgi
The interface is fine, I can login and customize perldesk
For the mail setting, I have problem
I saw something about piping so I did follow what Tim Perreault did
http://www.e-smith.org/bboard//read.php?v=t&f=3&i=31345&t=31345
I created .qmail-help in /var/qmail/alias with one line pointing to email.cgi:
/home/e-smith/files/ibays/perldesk/cgi-bin/include/email.cgi
I still cannot receive request in perldesk on my SME 5.6
Thank you to let me knows if you have a clue
