Title: problem during boot sequence
Post by: Mark W on March 14, 2003, 02:15:25 AM
During my boot sequence I receive the following error

"unable to initialize script etc/rc.d/init.d/autofs"                        "failed"

has anyone came across this before, if so please contact me A.S.A.P.

It continues to boot no problem however this concerns me a great deal as my life is on this server?

Thank you,
Mark.W.

Mark,

I don't even have that file on my box.  What extras have you installed?

Have you added any new applications to the server? If so you may want to look at the configurations.

The init.d/autofs is used when mounting services. If there is a timeout it will generate a log file in /var/log and then do a pico messages.

You will see the boot logs and try to determine where the error message is coming from.

Thanks,

Great thank you for the prompt response, I have a feeling it is probably from my proxypass.rpm.

I have installed tones of rpms. I think from what you guys have mentioned hear I can narrow it down. I have been playing around with my proxypass.rpm lately, so it could very well be that. I will look into it

Thanks for the help I will post again if I run into any other issues.
