Title: Logfiles & Intruder Detection

I have a hardware router/firewall, but it has limited logging features. I want to use my e-smith printer/file share server find out if anyone is getting through to the LAN. Does the e-smith server have any logging / intrusion detection built in? If so, where do I find it, and access the logs. If not, any recommendations?
