Title: SME5.6 > Intranet web browsing problems.
Post by: Kevin on March 20, 2003, 10:19:47 PM
I've got SME 5.6 set up as a server and gateway. It exists hetrogenously with my DOMAIN based LAN.

I also connect to another branch via a serial link that has an address within my NAT range that SMC handles. So I've entered them as a LOCAL NET and pointed to that serial link's router as the gateway.

Traffic flow works just fine for *almost* everything. I can see their network and our trust relationship works. I can ping machines on their domain by IP or hostname. I can browse the network with Explorer and see shares, etc. by IP or hostname. But for some reason, I can't bring up a web server on their network through a web browser.

It's as if the SMC server is trying to resolve a real hostname. So i guess my local machine is resolving their stuff okay but for some reason web browsing is using SMC for resolution instead of my local HOSTS or WINS.

What am I missing?

Thanks,
Kevin

What resolves for a web browser?
