I have configured SME 5.5 and everything seems fine. I have just began to experiment with PPTP, and have sucessfully connected with both Windows XP, and Mac OSX10.2.
However there seems to be little control over who may connect to the server. If the external IP address is known and a user has a valid login to the server then they may connect at will. I would like some employees to have an external connection but not all.
I would like to know it there is a mechanism as to have an allowed list of users , who may conenct?
Thanks for any help

Just found reference to this on the possible development list. Please ignore.

FYI, I typed up the related commands that Rich Lafferty posted here. You can now find this procedure at http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/btalcott/ as a HowTo.

Using your how-to is it necessary to set a number of pptp client connections through server-manager or leave at 0?
