I use SME 5.6 at home [and work].
Is there a way to limit download bandwith for some computers?
We've a cable-modem connection and 5 computer attached to the network.

Hi, at this moment SME don't support this, if you want a bandwith limiter, try other distributios as CLARKCONNECT, www.clarkconnet.org, bye from Barquisimeto, Venezuela.

Ahem, yes you can do this, do a search for cbq and you will find a howto on bandwidth limiting.
There is even a rpm for cbq, but I have not tested it out so I cannt vouch for it myself.

Try searching for "cbq" in the forums.
It works a treat for my satellite connection.
There is an rpm floating around but it is in Spanish.
Hope this helps

at contrib.org in the Saco you will find the spanish version and on e-smith.dyndns.org you will find another rpm. the spanish version allows more control

Has anyone tryed to translate this into english yet?

Take a look at the limiter at Dungog.net. Stephen Noble has an add-in with DansGuardian that works great. I don't know for sure if it will run without D/G or not.
