Title: How to block users from Internet
Post by: Marco Ranieri on April 30, 2001, 10:52:12 PM
I would like to set up an e-smith box to allow only certain people access to the Internet. What configuration changes must be made to the e-smith box to block these users from the internet?

Suppose I wanted computers from 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.5, but block others?

Thanks.

I simply installed squidGuard (www.squidGuard.org) into my e-smith box and anything can be blocked ie IP's, domains, URLs , and time restriction. Like most unix stuff its free and fantastic  and well supported and simply works.
If you can't get squidGuard to work reply back and we'll organise something.
