Title: require a login to access the internet
Post by: Craig Jensen on April 01, 2003, 08:20:33 AM
With SME 5.6, as server-gateway dedicated, is anyone aware of a method of requiring client machines to authenticate through a login to access the internet through the SME server-gateway?

Thank you Bill.

Anyone looking for similar there is another implementation at:

http://www.pagefault.org/code/e-smith.shtml#proxyauth

The expaination of thiis one (http://e-smith.dyndns.org/) does not tell much, but looking at the source, they appear to accomplish the same task... requiring authorization for users to access the external web interfaces.  Does this sound correct?
