Title: Webmail attachments
Post by: don on April 02, 2003, 04:09:32 AM
Hi guys,
I was under the impression that the attachment problem with webmail was fixed with the patches for 5.5. but i have installed 5.6 and applied the patches for it (update 2 ) and i am still having problems with sending attachments over 1 Meg

Could some one give me some advise on how to fix this ?

Cheers

Don

Jon

That FAQ item, referenced as http://www.e-smith.org/faq.php3#8q36 didn't work here and it still doesn't now:-( I used the figure of 75M (to cope with 66MB picture images). WebMail just bombs out when it attempts to send out locally with a test attachment of 66MB, again at 30MB, again at 16MB and, finally, only starts working with the *smallest* test image of 6MB. OK, I agree, that's bigger than 2MB:-) The FAQ is a little disingenuous to maintain that those two command lines will enable WebMail to send out 50MB attachments on SME5.5 and 5.6. It certainly increases the 2MB limit some... to, I'm guessing here, around 10MB?. FWIW I use SME5.6u2.

best wishes, Robert
