Title: The pdf printer

Hi all,

What really the differences if we compare the two nightspirit - e-smith-PDF-printer and cjensen - pdf-over-lan-sme_5.6-ONLY?

Please advise.

Cjensen made one RPM with all others inside
I have all modules apart from the rest (I think that makes upgrading software packages easier)

The Cjensen one is mentioned for SME 5.6 only, how abt the nightspirit one?

NiGhTsPiRiT's version is tested only on SME 5.6, not sure if it works on other versions. (this was also mentioned in the readme on the contrib area).

Hi,

I have tried to install the NiGhTsPiRiT copy, however, i have detected a msg while installing....

[root@sme pdf-printer]# rpm -Uvh *.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
        /usr/X11R6/bin/mkfontdir   is needed by XFree86-xfs-4.2.0-8
        /usr/bin/ttmkfdir   is needed by XFree86-xfs-4.2.0-8
        VFlib2 is needed by ghostscript-6.52-9.4
        libVFlib2.so.24   is needed by ghostscript-6.52-9.4

One more, i have noticed the NiGhTsPiRiT has additional the e-smith-pdf-printer-1.0-2.noarch.rpm and Cjensen doesn't...

I tried installing this on SME 5.5 and got a failed message about

/usr/sbin/alternatives

missing for cups-1.1.14-15.2. Is this part of 5.6?

Where do I get the stuff that's missing from /usr/sbin/alternatives?

Am I missing something very basic - do I need to read some instructions?
